Is the Ford Transit Connect a Minivan? Would it be cross shopped with a Honda Odyssey?

I would assume it competes with the C-Max and Mazda5(RIP) based on its size.

It is indeed, a miniature van.

Yes, but it seems on par feature wise with older ones. Ford doesn’t care enough to put effort into the Transit Connect Wagon(I despise that name).

The Transit Connect competes with ‘leisure activity vehicles’, which are quite popular here in Europe. They’re all basically passenger versions of small vans.

Here are some LAVs on sale today:

Kinja'd!!!

The Citroën Berlingo. It has a perfect name. Also available as Peugeot.

Kinja'd!!!

The Renault Kangoo. Also available as a Nissan and a …Mercedes-Benz (wat)!

Kinja'd!!!

The Fiat Doblo. Which is quite popular in Italy for use as a taxi cab.

Kinja'd!!!

The Volkswagen Caddy. It existed in the 80s and 90s as a van or ute too.

Kinja'd!!!

…And good news! It’s the Dacia Dokker.

There’s plenty more of these too, see wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leisure_activity_vehicle

Having driven a Kangoo..I approve...if it only came with a stick like the one I drove,

It is a minivan. The Odyssey is just a van at this point.

I would cross shop it. Mostly by crossing the Odyssey off the list.

Not exactly, the Connect is a gentrified van. It’s a cheaper, more basic thing than a C Max.

It’s a commercial van based Minivan so yes, it is a Minivan but I wouldn’t cross shop it against an Odyssey.

Don’t buy one they suck, my stepmom had one for a year and no one like it after riding in it.

We’ve got a guy that has a blue one rigged out as an outdoor activity vehicle, (rack up top, lights, etc.) Looks nifty but saddled with the 2.0 duratec and 4spd auto.
